Description

"Mean, green and unseen."

A fairly late addition to the Allied forces, the Mirage tank introduced active camouflage to reduce its visual and thermal signature. The first models integrated advanced rays of photo-reflectors capable of mimicking and displaying the surroundings, capable of reacting immediately to shifting conditions or inputs. The first prototypes installed modular panels on the hull and turret, providing limited benefits until full coverage could be achieved. The M60A2 Starship was chosen as a test subject due to its unique turret and reduced width.

Subsequent models improved the photo-reflective panels, reducing them in size and effectively obscuring almost the entirety of the tank from an enemy observer.

A more plausible take on Red Alert's vehicles. And a tribute to one of the first strategy games I played and the countless hours invested.
The full project is detailed in the Journal entry below!
Project Showcase: Red Alert 2 Combat VehiclesI remember Red Alert 2. I remember waking up early on Saturdays, firing up the computer and playing a couple skirmishes, mostly messing around and massing units for large attacks. Mind you, I was pretty terrible gameplay-wise and couldn’t even complete the campaign. Didn’t stop me from trying!
At some point last year I got to idea to pay homage to one of the cornerstone RTS games that I played when I was really young. Given the array of alternate history vehicles that I had drawn up to that point, the slightly more zany designs of the Red Alert universe were not much of a stretch. And thus the project began.
I had initially thought of a single idea for a piece, and then over the course of several days other ideas poured in and reached the 5 pieces, which were completed over several months, and I limited myself to those 5 rather than let my mind come up with more and extend the project’s completion. One of the things I pushed myself to do was incorporate the background
